The Gala apple is medium-sized and spherical. The skin is greenish-yellow, covered with red streaks and marbling when ripe. The skin is thin, smooth, dry and frosted. The flesh is yellowish in colour, sweetish to sweet, with a fine texture; it is moderately juicy and aromatic. The apple is practically the most widespread fruit in the world. There are so many varieties that if you ate one a day, it would take you over twenty years to taste them all.
