🍽️ What is Tempura Mix?
Tempura mix is a special batter mix used to make tempura – a light, airy and crispy batter for frying various ingredients such as vegetables, seafood, fish, chicken and other ingredients.
🧾 Ingredients
The mix usually contains:
✔️ wheat flour (the main ingredient)
✔️ rice flour / starch – helps achieve a light consistency
✔️ maize starch – enhances crispiness
✔️ raising agents (e.g. sodium bicarbonate)
✔️ salt, sugar, flavour enhancer (e.g. monosodium glutamate)
✔️ thickener for a better batter texture
⚠️ Allergens: contains wheat (gluten) – not suitable for a gluten-free diet.
🍤 How to use

Mix the contents of the packet with cold water (e.g. 150 g of mix + ~200 ml of water) to form a smooth batter.

Dip the ingredients (e.g. vegetables, prawns, fish) into the batter.

Fry in hot oil (approx. 170–180 °C) until golden brown.

Serve immediately, ideally with a dip (e.g. tentsuyu or soya sauce).

💡 Tip: For an extra crispy result, use really cold water when mixing the batter and don’t leave the batter to stand for too long – fry straight away.
