🌾 Inaka Udon noodles (200 g) are classic Japanese (and Asian in general) wheat udon noodles – thicker, chewy noodles suitable for soups, stir-fries, sauces or cold dishes. They are egg-free and made mainly from wheat flour and water, with a little salt and, where necessary, starch to improve the texture.

🍜 What are they?

Udon are thicker, round noodles made from wheat flour, typical of Japanese cuisine but also common in other parts of Asia. ‘Inaka’ refers to a more rustic, traditional style of noodle – with a fuller texture and chewy consistency.

🍳 Preparation

  1. Bring the water to the boil.

  3. Drain and serve either hot or cold.

💡 Tip: If you want the noodles to have a more intense flavour, let them simmer briefly in stock or sauce after cooking.
